Looking for your suggestions on a Firewire 800 Enclosure. I have a spare Seagate 320GB HD around and I'd like to put it to use.

I've seen some of the ones by OWC for around $100, but I was looking for more around the $50 price range.

OWC has a good one, just make sure it's the Oxford 924 chipset.

Getting a good fw800 enclosure for less than $80 probably isn't going to happen, as the firewire chipset tends to be pretty expensive, thereby making all fw800 enclosures a bit expensive. OWC is a good brand, as is ICYDOCK. If you want a cheaper route, think about an eSATA enclosure with an eSATA expresscard/PCI card.

Ok thanks for the info, wasn't sure as I have never priced these out before.

I can't seem to find any on OWC now for Firewire 800 and a 3.5 SATA HD. Seems like the ones I was looking at before were IDE.

Can you link me to one if you find it :)
