fyi : Hot 97.5 KVEG radio station offering iphone 5!?

i'm not joking..
i was listing to them around 550pm today when they were offering a listener some prizes: ipad 2, some mp3 player.....and "iphone 5"... the dj went " even though it's not even released yet!"..

i was so surprised to hear that?!...i sure hope they know something we don't.

i hope it's gonna be an iphone 5(with bigger screen) not a 5th iphone or an 4S

The radio just said when the next generation iPhone is realized they will send it to the winner. It is obvious there will be a new iPhone at some point. Although it is a odd prize it means nothing.

kinda related: When I was at the iPad 2 event, in front of me were five or so representatives of a marketing agency and they were there to secure new product for radio and internet promotions. They wouldn't tell me how much they got paid to sit in line, but they did tell me that they would not be allowed to purchase one for themselves.

They were expecting to buy 10 or more per person. They were rather upset when the Apple guys said two per person when they started handing out cards to reserve their product. I got a good laugh out of it though.

im guessing that the winner of that prize will be guarnteed a free iPhone 5 (4s, whatever) when it comes out...so when it IS released, whenever that is and whatever that is, the station will buy you one

so hopefully they don't go bankrupt before the phone comes out

but no, they don't actually have one to give away yet

They're just trying to get people to continue listening to their station. Yes, the iPhone 5 is coming out eventually, so they theoretically could offer it as a prize. But they don't know anything more than the rest of us.
