I always see posts asking about putting the tower on the floor vs on a desk or a riser. I had a cheap metro shelf sitting in my back room.... perfect solution.

It is also helpful to cut out 1/4 (or 1/2") plywood as a solid shelf to put stuff on. Much cheaper than the 'pre fabbed' solutions I've seen for sale. One thing to watch out for with the printer on top is that inkjets can cause the the entire thing to shake, they are not that sturdy.

I put a wood shelf (home depot) on the bottom between the mac pro and the wire shelf of the metro. I had originally just set the wood shelf on the carpet and the mac pro on that, but I like this solution much better.

Also, thats a teeny tiny lil laserjet, but thanks for the warning. Metro shelves are sturdy as hell, even more so with the mac pro anchoring it down.
