G.Skill Falcon 128GB - Quick Q's Please!

Hello

I'm buying a G.SKILL FALCON FM-25S2S-128GBF1 2.5" 128GB from eBay.

I've read its an OCZ Vertex drive but just rebagged.

1) Updating the firmware can only be done via Windows, can I utilise a VMWare image within Mac OSX?

2) When I install the drive, load the Mac OSX DVD and boot, will I get the option for disk utility to partition, is there a specific drive partitioning rule that I should follow? Is there any specific that I need to do?

3) Also been told to: noattime command, spotlight disabled

4) Is the drive any good?
