Don't know about G Technology's track record, but you're getting a Travelstar in there and there's no power supply to break, so life should be good.

roger that, I had always heard that the hitachi's were good. didn't even realize that it was one, so thanks!

i bought the 40gb version of the mini then installed the seagate momentous 100gb 5400rpm. i share it between my pc farm and my powerbook using macdrive from mediafour....

stays rather kewl except under the heaviest loads.... very quiet all the time....

i also bought the full size enclosure for a 3.5" drive but after being hamppered by the a/c adaptor i gave it to a buddy who doesn't need the portability....

highly recommened.... i got mine from newegg when they used to have stock but it's been out of stock for months now. i think you can find them over at bhphoto.com.

Dismantle G Tech Mini?

Hey Overheated. How did you get it apart? I took the srcews out of my 80gig mini & could not get it to slide apart.
