can anyone inform me of how much i should pay for a PB 667 g4 as i am buying one. combo/ airport/ etc

thanks

I would advise you not pay like more than 1100-1300 for a loaded 667 powerbook like that. Check out places like powermax.com, or macofalltrades.com for deals on powerbooks.

Many magazines have done tests between the 667 powerbook and the 900 ibook and tests shot that the 900 outperforms the 667 in almost every regard except when altivec was used.

Also are you aware that apple has come out with a G4 ibook? They start at just 1099 with an 800mhz G4 processor, 256 of ram, and a combo drive.

yeah, the ibook 900 would kick the crap out of the tibook except in altivec tasks. Especially if it's the earlier 667 (non-DVI) because that has a much crappier graphics card. If it's a 667 DVI then they have the same graphics card, but the ibook will still win except where altivec is concerned.

edit:
oh, and I agree that you should *not* pay more than $1100 for the Tibook. I wouldn't even go up to $1200-1300. Because for $1100 you can get a G4 ibook that will destroy the tibook in performance. (the powerbook does have some features the ibook doesn't, but then again the ibook has some things the Tibook doesn't, so all in all, there's no way the Tibook is worth more than a new G4 ibook)
