I recently got a G3 ibook 500MHz, from ebay, it was adevertised as having a faulty trackpad, which was true. However after taking the keyboard off out of interest and replacing it the trackpad (and button) worked, until i shut the lid next time. The next day i took off the keyboard and the airport bay and when i pressed down on the connector on the board the trackpad worked. Then i was clumsy and knocked the connector off the board.

What are peoples thoughts on whether i can get this soldered back on?
And how much would I be up for $$$?

As I mentioned I purchased this thinking the trackpad would not work, so I am happy to get by with an external mouse, but it would be convenient if i could get it working.

Cheers

(That small black box whicch the bronze ribbon goes into has been knocked completely off the board)
