I've just received a nice 1.42 eMac, working well but no hard drive. I'd like to give it to my father to replace his aging 400mHz G3 iMac. Can I just pull the hard drive from the G3 and install it in the eMac? It is currently running 10.4. Thanks for the help.

The hard drive should work as I believe they both use IDE/ATA drives. But if it's original it may not even be a 5400RPM. Whether or not you'll have to reinstall the OS for the eMac...No idea. I'm sure someone will answer.
