I got a little bored over my holiday break from college and decided to make a Lite Brite out of my old iMac. What do you think?!?! I am planning out an Apple themed design for it, rainbow Apple logo?

From the looks of things: Screwdriver, Hands, Old Lite Brite, Old iMac, and Double-Sided Tape / Velcro.

A Bending Unit may also be of some service.

Just gutted my old iMac, the Lite Brite is the same size as the screen opening, used Velcro to mount the Lite Brite to the front screen bezel, ran the cord out the back, that's it!

Well - unless they scrap the guts - not like they can't remove the velcro and put the guts back in.

My iMac was long gone! So I wasn't too afraid of getting a nice little zap. How long will a CRT hold a charge?

Be careful removing the CRT so you dont go flying across the room with spiky hair.

I second that. CRTs hold a supermassive amount of charge in them, even after they've been unplugged for months.

Touch the wrong part on a CRT and it'll kill you.

If it's unplugged - won't likely kill you. It'll hurt like a MOFO, but that is usually the extent of it.

It's the capacitors that get ya when unplugged. Flyback is only dangerous when it's under power.

My friend knows that a live 300VDC cap feels like, I can ask him to describe it for ya. ;)

It hurts an unbelievable amount. You can easily make a 270V taser out of a disposable camera. A guy at school hooked two together and got me on the arm. 540V leaves two nice marks for about a month afterwards

Need inspiration for the Apple logo?
