Hello!

I have an old Mac Power PC 533mhz (Digital Audio) 1.25g, and I just bought a 19" Magnavox HDTV/VGA monitor because it was a smoking deal and my old monitor sucks. It is 1440 x 900 resolution but after plugging it in I find that my ATI Rage 128 Pro graphics card will not support this.

Can anyone recommend a graphics card that will work...I'm not looking to go crazy, just add the functionality of a wide monitor (I'm very close to buying a 17" Mac Book Pro) so that I can have a desktop and laptop. No reason to throw out my old machine with the new, it work great (kind of)... alothough I could sell it... for a couple hundred bucks...course that's also the cost of a nice new video card...

Should I just give up and return the monitor or is there a reasonable upgrade?

Thanks a lot, in advance. I've learned a lot just reading your posts for years.

are you sure it won't support it? I'm running 1440 x 900 on a B&W G3 with the stock ATI RAGE 128 (16 MB VRAM).

It gives me trouble if I connect it hot, but a reboot does the trick.
