Greetings again, I see my network as a choice but every time I try to connect to it it says the network does not support the requested encryption method. My network is configured for 802.11g with wpa personal, the information matches on the airport. Unfortunately I'm unable to use ethernet for this machine. I'm wondering if there is anything I can do, or is there an upgrade card to make this better? Thank you for your time.

Edit- The card is M7600LLE and apparently it doesn't do 802.11g, only b. I thought it was weird as it sees the network.

Hi,
I know there are some wireless n pci cards that are supposed to work. There are also usb receiver n pieces that work. Check out OperatorHeadgap or find some on ebay. Might want to check compatibility first.

Something else to keep in mind. WPA is fine, but you need to use TKIP encryption. You cannot use AES, it won't connect even if the password is correct.

Thank you, I ended up digging out an old router I had that allowed tkip and that fixed it.

TKIP is deprecated and no longer secure. You might as well be using WEP.

Unfortunately for this reason the original AirPort cards are more or less just novelty items. If I were you, I'd purchase a PCI or USB Wifi device that supports WPA2. There are a few options mentioned on these forums. Or, just use Ethernet.
I know for some people depending on living situations that might be easier said then done. For me, my phone is usually the only device that is actually on Wifi.
