I managed to pickup a 800mhz 15" G4 iMac today for free.

It runs OK but the hard drive sounds terrible and I think it may be just about to die.
I would like to replace the hard drive for a 60GB SSD like here;

But I'm not sure what adapter I would need to be able to use a SATA SSD to replace the 3.5" IDE.

Can someone please link me to the correct adapter (On eBay preferably as I'm in Australia)

Thanks

I can't give you a link to a specific adapter, but assuming it will fit in the iMac you'd need a SATA to PATA adapter. IDE is also know as Paralel ATA.

You could always forget the converter and get one of the IDE SSDs that OWC sells.

Edit: That was the link to the 2.5" drives. Here is the link for 3.5" drives. The 60GB costs less than the 40, but they still are really pricey.

Get SATA -> IDE adapter based on Marvell chip. Ask seller if it won't be stated in product description.
OWC Legacy SSDs don't have good reviews (at least from what I've read) and price/performance ratio.
