G4 keeps shutting off by its self

After a power serge at my apt My G4 just keeps shutting off by it's self.
Sometimes it will work for 15 minutes before shutting down, but most of the time it dies after about 35 seconds.
So I live in NYC does anyone know where I should take. it that wont charge me an arm and a leg. And can get it done in a timely manner
