G4 MDD 1.0 to 1.25

I have a very good working G4 Mdd 1 gig dual CPU computer. I also have a G4 MDD 1.25 gig dual that does not work. Can I take the 1.25 gig cpu from the non working G4 and install it into the working 1.0? Are they compatible? Also will it be worth it? Will I notice any difference in speed or should I just leave well enough alone? Thanks for any tips.
