G4 MDD: Hard Drive Shows Only 50% Of Size

hello.

i got this G4 mdd as a gift and because the powermac has 4 hard drive bays, i thought to fill it up. i got 4 80 gb ide drives and i connected all of them.

the first 3 showed the full drive size. the 4th showed only about 30 gb. i partitioned all 4 drives identically.

does anybody have any idea what is wrong? i tried google but i found no answer...

Check the jumpers. IIRC, some hard drives have a jumper setting that limits them to 32GB for compatibility with old PCs.
