G4 monitor won't wake up

I have a 1.25 Ghz MDD G4 desktop. It has worked fine, but recently it seems the monitor does not want to wake up. I have to restart the machine. I have studied the energy settings to see what could be done there, but don't see cause for this.

Any thoughts on this situation?

Can you try (borrow?) a different screen - because it could be either the screen or the graphics card thats playing up - if the behaviour is identical on a different screen then the graphics card isnt behaving correctly, if it isnt there, then the screen is the item that isnt working correctly.
