G4 OSX installer quits

My G4 quicksilver DP800 has a new 120gb ssd ,the only OS it recognizes is os 9.2. I've tried disks from 10.0.03 to Tiger, none of these will boot, just spinning ball. Ran the Hardware disk, passed all tests. Zapped pram, battery is good and reinstalled os from factory disks. In os9 I've changed start up disk to X and just gives me the spinning ball.

What do you see when you attempt to boot in verbose boot?

The normal unix display, I see a "system core services failure", cannot connect to server, that sort of thing.
