Just picked up a good-condition 1 GHz Titanium PowerBook G4. That completes my trifecta of stylish G4s (Cube, iMac G4, PowerBook G4.)

It came with a fairly bare-bones Leopard install, I'm installing the MacOS9Lives build of 9.2.2 on it now. Yes, it's going to be my primary personal laptop! (I have a work laptop, but have been using a tablet as my 'primary personal mobile device' for a few years.)

Congrats on the TiBook, it's one of my personal favorites. Talk about a revolutionary peice of history. It was the first widescreen laptop and apples transition from plastic to metal designs.

Do you have any hinge or paint chipping issues?

Quite a bit of paint wear on the plastic upper piece - and the lower case is starting to separate on the corner the battery is in. But the hinges are great, and the lid is immaculate. In fact, while closed, it looks nearly-new. It's just the inside of the upper piece (where palms would rub) that is problematic.

It has 768 MB RAM, but I think I have a 512 MB PC133 SODIMM somewhere I can throw in to get it up to 1 GB.

One other nice bonus: this gives me a reasonably modern-OS X-capable machine that can use my PCMCIA SmartMedia 5 volt card, to more easily transfer pictures from my QuickTake 200.

How much did you pay for it? I'd love a 1GHz TiBook, I have a 500MHz thats kinda slow at menial tasks.

Congrats. Somehow I have ended up with three of those. The lower case separation can easily be fixed with a dab of superglue.

And here's a photo - taken with an Apple QuickTake 200, of course.
