G4 (Yikes!) processor on a Beige G3

Hi all!

Does anyone knows if a processor of a G4 PCI Graphics (Yikes!) works on a Beige G3 Mini Tower?

I put this processor on my Beige G3 and when I activate the cache via CPU Director and the system partition was erased completely...

Then I ask you: Is this any incompatibility between the processor and Logic Board, or is the processor defective?
