i have posted this before but what the heck, a 1.4 single g4 in my 733 with 10.2.6 and 1 gig of mem received a xbench of 114. for comparison purpose if anyone is interested and thanks to ijon for the post.

xBench

I think xBench is full of crap when using the G5. It just doesn't seem to be that a single 1.4GHz G4 can just barely be slower then a 1.8GHz G5,

Ooops... sorry, Don't Hurt Me. Didn't pay enough attention..... :(

the g4 has a l3 the g5 dont, what i would like to see are frame rates of our favorite games, now that will tell the story. the dual machine is way ahead but the singles are not and this shows it. i think apple should have had 1 single and 2 duallies. anyways apple wont have to worry about moto' stagnation anymore.

Quoting you again here...

I totally agree. The difference between a Single 1.6 and Dual 2.0 GHz G5 is enormous... Personally I would have like to have seen the Dual 1.8 Ghz G5 alongside the single 1.8.
I have a Dual 1.25 GHz G4 now, and getting a single 1.8 GHz G5 doesn't seem such a leap. I know about the FSB, S-ATA, and so on, but still.... no L3 cache... no Dual..... <errrr... not even VPC :D >

this is gonna be sold soon im gonna put panther on here tomorrow (7b49) and see how it performs. as for my thoughts on the powermac, its huge when you walk up to it, but then after playing with it a while. things do feel real snappy with just everyday things like clicking and stuff, and this only has the base amount of ram. i cant see why anyone would leave the side door on. i really like the window because the inside of this computer is very eye pleasing. fans are quiet. it also wouldnt be hard at all to put a light in this thing. it could fit at least a foot long cold cathode tube, run it to the back of the case, behind the motherboard up the case and come out the hold with the 4 pin power connector and share it with the cd rom. all in all, a beatiful machine, if there are any questions let me know, this is a demo model "I" am in control of so i can do anything I want, just let me know.

Get the frame rates of UT2003 and Quake 3 at varying resolutions please. :)

Thanks.

well i dont have ut2003, i have the discs though, but if someone can send me a crack to install and try i will, testing purposes only ;) Quake i believe i can do. I can also Warcraft 3, but we all know that will run more than fine on this computer. umm i have RTCW and thats all i can think of now. UT2003 is probably the only one you guys care about. PM with the crack if you have one.

edit: another cool thing, when you turn this computer to sleep EVERYTHING turns off, fans and everything, real cool. then when you turn it on its like a car, fans rev up and slow back down and then you cant hear anything again.

Wow, nice man.

Nice.

xBench sucks now, such a varying in scores... bah!

Get some quake or something...

iJon you can also test the demo...

Or... You have a Private message.

strange.... I got a 126 on Xbench 1.1 on a 1.6GHz G5 w/ 256MB of RAM.

Sorry no specifics, but that is extremely weird. Guess Xbench isnt reliable on the G5s yet.
