A STORY ON Akiba PC Watch claimed that shipments of the Apple G5 in Japan are delayed, because of unexplained production delays.
According to the Japanese language web site, the single CPU 1.8GHz or 1.6GHz G5 won't be available until the middle of September, while the dual G5 is now expected to ship at the end of September in Japan.
Meanwhile, the printed version of the Japan Times claims that Apple Japan is to boost its corporate sales staff from 10 to a much bigger 60 members of staff.
Apple has, the newspaper claimed, won Toky Star Bank, which will introduce its machines at 30 of its branches and used for customer services. µ

Pretty odd considering the front page of apple.com shows a pic of the G5 box with th caption: Now Shipping.
