I have Final Cut Pro 7 running on my G5 (thanks to this forum)

I am now having trouble with my video files .
I shot on 500D
Imported to Mac HD
Converted to prores422 using compressor.

Now when importing to Final Cut Pro , it shows unrendered in timeline. The preview file window works however, just the actual project doesn't .

Surely I don't have to render every time I edit a file or import?

Edit ***

I am getting the "frame rate of the preset chosen for decompression differs from items in your selection." error message.

How do I get round this as when converting to prores422 it says it will use the source frame rate. How can this then differ?

Also to add, I have tried all of the prores422 presets for my video resolution (1280 x 720) & it gives the same error.

Footage was shot on canon eos 500d

** Edit.

I made a custom prores422 and set the frame rate to 30. It converted fine.
I think I may have it sorted, the problem was with playback settings.

hopefully thats it now.
