G5 freezes when trying to sleep!?

Hey guys, I tried to put my G5 to sleep today since the first time I have had it. Everything has been running great except today when I tried to do this. I have tried several times, each time the Mac just freezes and sits there. Cmd option esc doesn't work, nothing does.

Any suggestions on what I can do? Please help.
