I got a quick question. I have a 2 year old 15 crt hooked up to my G5 until i get a 19" lcd by xmas. But the thing is that this MV540 Compaq monitor sometimes doesnt power up when i turn comp on.
Comp boots up but monitor remains in a standby mode. Then I turn comp off and turn it on again, and it powers up no problem. It doesn't happen alot... maybe once every 50 boot-ups. Is this a monitor isssue? video card issue? compaq vs apple issue? anyone seen this before? any ideas on what it could be and what should I do?
I tend to think this is cause by monitor hooke dup with that pc/mac connector thingy, but i don't know....

Any help is appreciated.

I have had the exact opposite issue with my g5. When I have a vga>dvi moniter plugged in my g5 will not boot up. I must unplug and then restart.
