I was just wondering if those of you withh G5's running panther could tell me if you notice whether the fans run more if you set the power saver option to highest. Personally i set it to highest and havn'g really noticed a thing at all in terms of fans spinning faster or noise.
Also besides xbench which gets a big perf increase when power saver options are at highest instead of reduced or automatic, can you tell me, do you normally see much of a difference when you run your apps with power saver set at highest instead of auto.
Personally speaking i discovered it by accident, i couldn't believe that the Dual G5 2GHz was "only" running at automatic speed because to be honest so far its frighteningly fast for the work we have been doing with it! Imagine my surprise when i discovered that it hadn't been set to highest.... bloody hell. impressive. rebenched some math stuff. even faster! this thing never ceases to amaze me!
