G5 & Panther update?

If you buy an G5 now, is there any chance to get a free or less expensive update for Panther when it comes out? I'm going to make my boss to buy a Mac (our first - so it's like running against a wall ) but I can't come back in two weeks and make him pay for an update that soon. Anybody?

I may very well be wrong, but if I remember correctly when a new OS comes out, anyone who purchased a Mac within say 28 days prior to the release (may be less time, may be more) they will get the software for the cost of P&P, usually about $15 or something.

As I said, may well be wrong, but I am sure thats the way it has worked previously.

I certainly hope that will be the case. With Jaguar I believe that they charged $29.95. I would think that if you purchased a G5 now. As long as Panther comes out before Thanksgiving, the special price should be available.
