Hi I have been searching around a bit and couldn't find a definitive answer... basically i want to install a new 400gb hard drive into the secondary slot of my 1.8DP G5 power mac, what should I go for to make sure it is compatible? Should I go for a SATA I drive or will SATA II work as well. Also, as I am installing in secondary drive slot, will it boot normally allowing me to reformat the drive from disk utilities?

Cheers

You can use S-ATA 1.5Gbps (I) and S-ATA 3.0Gbps (II) HDDs, as they are backwards compatible. Also Disk Utility will recognize your HDD and allow you to format it.
