Hello there. So my G5 Quad started leaking in January, the overtemp led came on after 30 min, the G5 always sleep itself. I been wanting to rebuild the LCS, It a single pump LCS. So what is the o-ring size and what is the tools I need?

I must confess to knowing virtually nothing about the G5, as I've never had one or worked on one. However HERE's a link I bookmarked some time ago. Note the comments about using Viton O-rings which appear to be recommended over the OEM rings.
Hopefully someone who's done this task on your actual model could advise further.

Also THIS overview archive of G5 coolant leakage may be of interest.
Pls eventually provide feed-back on your repair as it could prove useful to others.

Thanks for the reply. The link you posted is for the 2.7GHZ not the 2.5 quad. I'll measure the o-rings after I get the tools.

i attempted this, but when i removed my LCS, i noticed that all the piping was really brittle. It was probably more than i cared to do with my quad, so i put it back together and sold it as parts. ive always wanted to buy one and convert it to air. I still have a 2.7 thats been in storage for about 10 years now, hmm...

Hi VanneDC.
I would definitely check on that 2.7Ghz.
Mine had mildy leaked after I put it in storage.
I doesn't seem to make the LCS's any favor unfortunately.

Good luck.
