Earlier today I went to my recycling centre again to grab some speakers out of some old TVs and also saw an older PC that looked more top of the line for around 2004 / 2005 so I took a look at it and grabbed the RAM out of it. Got home, threw it in my G5 and it's two 1GB Crucial sticks. So all RAM DIMMS do work, and it turns out ~Both~ my 256MB sticks are bad. So now I'm rocking a nice 3GB total, two 512s and two 1GBs. Might order two more 1GB sticks to max it at four, and put the 512s in my MDD giving it about 1.75GB. Now all the G5 needs is a nice video card.
As for software issues, I backed up my files and reformatted my 1TB HDD. 60GB partition for Tiger (Surprisingly fast and not as obsolete as I thought) and the rest of the drive has a fresh install of Leopard. All working very well now.
Also, Dear recylcing centre,
