Recently acquired the Mac G5 version of the nVidia GeForce 6800 ultra for my G5 Dual 2.0. Ihave installed the card and when it starts up I get my cursor and a black screen and nothing else. It will boot the Leopard install disk and will boot if i hold down select key from start up (safe mode?) It worked fine with previous card ATI 9650. Please Help! Thank you!

This recently happened to me. My 2.7 has a 9650 and I was experiencing the same symptoms as you. I put the 9600 in that I had, and I would get it to work, then freeze up, and after that point I had the same issue with the 9600 as I did with the 9650. I took the cards apart, repasted them, and that did nothing to help. I ended up reflowing the board and now it works, so a mystery I'll never know.

Try the basic things like re-seating and all the resets (button under ram, SMU reset, PRAM, etc).
