G5 vs G4?

Now that the prices of the G4s have dropped, those desktops are now very affordable. The question I have is, how do the speeds of the G4 compare to the new G5?
My brother is going away to Penn State to major in film & video. He wants to work with Premiere and Final Cut. Will a dual G4 work fine or should we spend more for a G5??

I'm a film major, and I'm currently saving up for a G5. The G4's are great, and will do all you need them to do, but when FCP and all those apps become optimized for the G5.....damn it will all be fast. Rendering will happen so quickly. If money is really an issue, then go for the G4. If you can afford the G5 though, I say go for it. It's a powerful machine, and it won't become obsolete as fast as the G4 might.
