G5 vs. Intel benchmarks? - iMac 1.8GHz G5 vs. iMac 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

I'm seriously considering the purchase of an iMac 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, and I currently own an iMac 1.8GHz G5, which I'll be selling.

I've been looking for a good web site with benchmarks to compare the two. Any suggestions? In general, how do the Intels compare to the PPCs? Am I going to see a big performance difference?

I appreciate any input you can offer. Thanks!

Primate labs releases benchmarks every now and then using Geekbench. The most recent test was done in June, here's a link.

Depends. For general day to day stuff, no difference at all. For more intensive tasks anywhere upto 2-3 times faster.

Having used both machines, the Core 2 is faster in all regards.
