GAIM for OSX?

On the GAIM website no direct OSX download...But there is some UNIX source. Can I compile this for OSX?

I supposed you can, but i think you might need to install xcode for that, which is 1~3G in size?

Anyway, there is a sister project called Adium, who is using the core library of GAIM (now pidgin, damn AOL), so you might to give it a try.

Why do you wish to use GAIM? with iChat and the more obvious Adium?
