Hi,

I have an iphone 4, lost my charger but have the USB cable. I recently bought a samsung galaxy tab. The voldate for the tab is 5V and 2A where as the iphone 4 according to spec is rated at 5V and 1A. My question is, if i tried to charge my iphone 4 with that, is there any long term damage to my iphone 4... i havent really plugged it in yet for fear of exploding my iphone 4 - can anyone throw some light if anything can go wrong...

Not sure about the voltages but the some iPad chargers are compatible with the iPhones but I thought the Tab and iPhone cables were actually different? They look similar but looked like different widths to me.

Its not the same size. Doesn't fit. We all Apple like to be special ... they wouldnt allow anyone to use there type of plugs

nope the cables are different - but the thing is just like the iphone charger - there is a charging block and the cable - for the samsung tab also same thing and the output for the charging block is a USB output so you can hook up your iphone cable to the samsung charging block and potentially use it with your iphone..

i am not electronically savvy and thats why wanted to confirm it with anyone who knows this kind of stuff..
