Mac Can't connect to any Minecraft servers.

OK So I bought this game called MineCraft And for what ever reason, when I'm playing on the mac, i cant connect to any minecraft servers. Both of the windows systems have no problems connecting any minecraft server so i don't believe the router is blocking me. I also disabled the firewall that is built in on the mac and I still cant connect to the servers. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Solution: turns out minecraft SMP is not compatible with this OS.
