Ive read some reviews stated that games run better on Macs running windows but I am curious am i better off buying the games on the app store or just using the steam versions which i already own since I have them on Steam. The games in question is KOTOR 1 and 2. I don't mind paying $9.99 for each if they run better on the app store versions or is it the same? I did notice that the size differences are different. KOTOR 2 on steam is 4GB and the App store is 6GB

There's no difference, dude. They're storefronts run by different companies. MAS apps are sandboxed, but that doesn't have an effect on performance.

Steam is the better storefront with proper support.

Steam is the better storefront with proper support.

Steam has additional downloadable content that for games that I wan't able to find on the Mac store.

I play Civ

That's because publishers actually use Steam, unlike the deserted cesspool that is the App Store.

Just wanted to add that KotOR is on the iPad.

Games will perform better under Windows due to Direct X compatibility, but only if you play them natively using boot camp and the graphic drivers properly installed.

When you buy KOTOR in Steam you can play it in both WIN and MAC versions, so if the Mac is not enough polished for your computer, try using boot camp.

MAS version probably will be equal or worse than Mac version of Steam.

If you play it on windows on your mac, it will play better. Inside of Mac, it doesn't matter which one you get, they will perform the same.

That being said, you should still get the Steam version. Otherwise you are locked into MAS. Also, games are REALLY expensive on the MAS for some reason. On steam, if you wait for a sale, you will get almost anything for $1-10. MAS always charges $40 for super old games. Hate them.

Steam is better.
