GameCenter - can't add people?

Hi,

In GameCenter I click 'Requests' and then press the '+' icon in the top right to bring up the friend request screen.

I then type the username I want to add and press send, the username will go into a bubble of sorts while it processes, but then it says:

Unable to send friend request
Please verify the name and try again.​

The name is definitely right, and this is happening very often for me right now. Maybe 9 times out of 10 it won't work, but occasionally it will... any ideas please?

I have this problem ALL THE TIME. What the hell is going on? I know these names are correct but they jut can't be found by GC on my iPhone. It's driving me NUTS.

In the end I had to logout, log back in again and it prompted me to do the signup process again? I did that, had to use a different name this time (ahhhh! annoying) and now I can add people no problem

Has your account been verified?

if not, go to My Apple ID (https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/) and verify your account.

To verify, Apple will send you can email with a link, click on the link and log in to your "My Apple ID" account, its actually quite simple.
