Gamepad for MAMEOSX

Hey guys,

I play a lot of old arcade games using the MAMEOSX programme. What controller would work best for this purpose? I don't play any other games, just these.

I have been reading up but about gamepads and some people say that the Logitech Rumblepad works and some say it doesn't. There doesn't seem to be one definite controller that is 100% Mac OS X compatible. I'm using 10.4.8 on a Macintel Core 2 Duo. Any advice would be appreciated. Ideally, I'd like something that'll work without drivers.
