Gamepad not showing on NES

HELP!!! I've just installed the NES simulator and the roms and when I go to play a game the controls aren't there. I've tried every game I have and I can't get it to work. Suggestions? Comments?

Maybe you have the sensory pad on. Go into the settings (of the NES simulator) and turn it off.
 
Still not working. I turned the sensory pad off and i went back and tried and it still wasn't working. I tried restarting my ipod and it isn't working.
