Hey guys!

I'm representing a developer team which is releasing its first iPhone / iPad game in a couple of months. Right now we are trying to figure out how to record an actual gameplay from the device to show it to the world.

Unfortunately, the issue is trickier than we thought. The game is very sophisticated, full 3D, based on OpenGL engine. In short: it's impossible to record its gamplay via iPhone Simulator - the framerate would be too small and the game chokes.

That's why, we have decided to actually connect the iPad / iPhone to the TV and THEN capture the signal via some sort of video card through the computer.

The problem is, I have no idea what sort of hardware is worth of buying.

Perhaps you guys know / have any experience in that matter? Could you help me please? Anyone have any thoughts on capturing iPhone / iPad gameplay?

Thanks!

Forgive me from asking a stupid question :)

Can't you just record off the screen with a quality HD Video recording device and good lighting?
