Games In Windows Resolutions

So far any game I have run in Windoze does not recognize that fact that I have a 1440 x 900 display (MBP display, or even my external display). FEAR and C&C Generals both let me select 1152 x 864, which is close but doesnt quite cut it...

Any settings I could change (no options in-game available for 1440 x 900!) that you gys know about would be great!
 
hhhmm interesting both my monitors support the 1440 x 900, can your desktop be viewed at the full res of the monitor and then its only the games that dont support 1440x900?
