I'm trying to play MW3 on my dual core i3 clarkdale, 8GB DDR3 NVIDIA GT 220, and i'm getting 30-40 frams, BUT it's skipping like a bitch.

will the late 2011 early 2012 Macbook Pro, either 15 or 17 be able to play these latest games well?

yes, my late 2011 15" plays BF3, so yes, it will play MW2............er I mean 3 XD

That's fine, i only buy like 2-3 games a year, and i don't really play that often, i just want the option for when i DO want to play them.
