So I don't know much about gaming on my mac as I use consoles but I am interested in getting Guild Wars 2. Here is the specs required for the game.

OS-X 10.7.X or later
Processor Intel Core™ i5
Memory 4 GB Ram
Hard drive 25 GB available HDD space
Graphics card NVIDIA GeForce 320M, ATI Radeon™ HD 6630M, Intel HD 3000 or better

I have a late 2008 Macbook unibody, 2.4gHZ intel core duo, 480GB SSD, 8GB Ram, OS Maveriks and NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB

So, I am unsure if my graphics card or processor can handle this game and can I expect any lag or other issues that would diminish my gaming experience. (I am ware that graphics cards can not be upgraded so it's either a go or no go)

Oh oh, I can help on this one :D

I have the same laptop (240GB SSD though), and forget about playing GW2 on your Mac Partition, the game client is run though WineSkin and runs absolutely horrendously.

On the other hand, on a Windows (bootcamp) partition, GW2 plays just fine on Low / Low-Medium Settings. You can do massive boss events like the revamped Tequatl fight and everything just expect your frame rate to drop to 15-20 in those dragged out, high effect fights.

Roaming in WvW keeps me in the 35-40FPS range, Zerg on Zerg combat makes me hit again the 15-20FPS mark though while slow is still manageable, especially if you're running PVT gear.

With my laptop I always play on Low settings just to try to help my frame rate some. Even then though your fan will be at 100% at all times so I wouldn't take this game to school or anything. Macbook gets extremely toasty.

I really prefer playing on my desktop where the game is maxed out but I always carry it with me on my Macbook just in case. :)
