I have a 2.4ghz unibody Macbook Pro with 256mb graphics card, and I'm wondering what resolution will be manageable for gaming on an external monitor. Can it handle 1920 x 1080, or should I play it safe and go for something a little lower?

I'm not playing Crysis or anything super intense, just MMOs. Any advice is appreciated.

It REALLY depends on the game. WOW would be find at any resolution, whereas Age of Conan will struggle at any resolution.

Honestly, if you're gonna have an external monitor, why not just build a cheap gaming PC? For $500ish, you could build a machine that could handle pretty much anything.
