I'm getting a larger monitor that goes to 1920 x 1200. Was wondering what experiences people have with gaming on a 8800gt at this resolution? I use bootcamp XP for playing Fallout 3 and Far Cry 2. I played on a smaller monitor, and wonder will I take a big performance hit.

youl be fine 8800gt was made for that res!

it have no probs depending on game you should max the settings with 80fps

I have an 8800GT in my Mac Pro and I am a hardcore gamer. I have been able to max out almost every game at 1920 by 1080 on my 30" ACD except for Crysis however Far Cry 2 plays amazing at that resolution.

Snap!

I know its kind of a older game now but Bioshock runs at full 1920 x 1200 res and highest settings without a hitch and probably 60fps on my system under Vista x64 Ultimate. Its miles more fun than playing it on my old MBP. Pretty soon here I'm going to test the Orange Box games from Valve .. and then Crysis

Just be careful with Source games (Half-Life, Portal, Team Fortress 2, etc.) as they make my card scream. However, I also think it may have something to do with 64 bit Vista as I've only noticed it since I installed it a little over a month ago.

I can run crysis between med and high settings at 1920x1200 but I ususally end up turning the resolution down slightly and bumping everything up to high. Definitely still very playable though. I do the same thing with fallout 3, except that most everything is maxed with 2 or 4 times AA on, I forget. I can get some real numbers for you later when I reboot.

edit: I am looking forward to when the ati 4870 comes out though, I feel like it will make a huge difference. Also I can run all steam games maxed out at very high fps as well.
