My friend is looking to buy a laptop, so i reccommended the 12" iBook. It's a pretty nice machine for a good price. The only thing really holding him back is, he likes to game on his computer. How good is gaming with the 32 mb video card in the iBook? He's into Warcraft III, Diablo 2, Civilization II, et al. Any comments from iBook owners- positive or negative would be great. :)

warcraft 3 should run pretty well because of blizzards excellent mac coding. diablo 2 is old so it should play fine as well. diablo 2 would play excellent on my pismo 500 g3 with 8mb ram. civ 2 should play nicely as well. newer games are gonna lack alot. 800mhz g4 isnt a lot, neither is 32mb of vram.

i agree with ijon. Those games are older and will all run very well. War3 is fairly demanding (mostly CPU, not graphics card so much) but I've run it very well on both an ibook 900 and a 1 Ghz 12" PB.

i agree too,,,i dont think 32mb vram would be a prob...u may wanna upgrade the ddr ram a bit...i play tonyhawk 4 on my ibook 800 256 mb ram .....and it does stagger a lil bit....
but those strategy games should be fine i guess...warcraft runs well...dont know fr sure about the others
