Gaming via VM

If I wanted to play games via VM (nothing too new. Some counter strikes, Fallout NV, Universe Sandbox, Dishonored, DeusEx HR [All Steam]), and I put all 1GB of video memory towards the VM, would that work, or do I HAVE to leave some resources for the actual computer?

Also if I do set all 1GB or even 750MB, and am playing a game, does Windows have to use the resources, then the mac again to actually display it, or just Windows? Like does it just pass through or use everything twice?

None of those are going to run well in a virtual machine, save for CS. Just use Windows natively if you want to play those or purchase Mac ports where available.
