hi guys,

I discovered that my macbook air mid 2011 has gap btw aluminum bezel and LCD screen. Is it normal?

@this picture which I captured from macrumors's member and I have exactly the same issue

Thanks

yes, it is normal. This is pretty much the only reason why I'd prefer the black bezel. But it sort of 'frames' the bezel a bit, because of the black rubber on the outer edge.

Also, that picture zoomed in and using that black cloth to draw the eye to it makes it seem far bigger then it is.

You seem to be talking about the thickness of the bezel. That's not what he's talking about. He says there is actually a bit of an open space between the bezel and the screen surface, such that he can slide a piece of paper (or cloth) between the two.

That is NOT normal.

That is not normal. I cannot slide anything between the screen and the bezel in my MBA.

Oh.. ya... not normal. There should be no physical gap between the "screen" and the bezel. There is a visual black line all the way around though.

I took my MBA to Apple reseller, my country does not have apple store and they said it is completely normal

Don't know if it is normal but I can get a sheet of paper between the screen and the bezel on both the 11" and 13" MBAs here... It only goes in about 2-3mm or so though.

It's normal. The bezel is glued to the display lid and so when glue dries and shrinks a bit there are bound to be gaps.

when I clean my screen, tons of dusts come to this gap
