hey everybody, this is my first post as i am new to mac but i'm freaking loving it! except for this one little problem. when i record in garage band it is recording the track in stereo like i have it set to but then when when i stop recording the switches so that everything only plays out of the left speakers. thats only using the line in though, if i switch to use the built in mic it is fine. i recorded one song where it didnt do it and i dont know if have pushed something by mistake or what. i thought it might be the amp but as i said, it shows that it's recording in stereo and then converts to mono.

if you're recording a mono source (e.g. one mic), you should be recording to a mono track. on playback, assuming you have it panned center, it'll come out evenly in both speakers.
only record to a stereo track if you're recording a stereo source, i.e. two mics (well, two capsules, anyway).
