Garage Band free version

I am using the free version of Garage Band. All I want to do is record my Granddaughters saying "Grammy pick up the phone" but when I do and upload it it still has that menacing metradome sound along with their little voices, how do I turn that off??
I do appreciate anyone's time that can help me!!:eek:
